EMPLOYEE AND CHOICES

Advanced English Dictionary defines choice as an act of or selecting or making decisions.

As we continue our safety moments this week, our emphasis today still goes to the employee WHO HAS THE POWER AND THE FINAL AUTHORITY  TO CHOOSE safety and wellbeing ABOVE ALL. A new working year is here with a myriad of choices to make during the course of doing our various works. These choices could either be beneficial or detrimental to our personal safety and wellbeing.

Studies have shown that the three most common factors affecting employee’s decisions or choices are in the acronym- MAP:

  • MOTIVATION- The driving force behind the way a person acts or the way in which people are stimulated to act

  • ATTITUDE- The tendency to behave in a particular way or certain situation.

  • PERCEPTION – This is the way in which a person believes or understands a situation.

EMPLOYEES’ BEHAVIOR SHOULD ALWAYS BE SAFETY GUIDED, THEIR DRIVING FORCE SHOULD ENHANCE SAFETY AND THEIR BELIEF SYSTEM SHOULD BE FROM THE SAFETY VIEWPOINT

Knowing all the ways you can get hurt at work can help you make safe choices.

“WORKING AND STAYING SAFE IS YOUR CHOICE, SO CHOOSE WISELY”

HAVE A GOOD DAY AHEAD!!!
